Core Team Partners
I was raised in the Christian Church and was baptized at age 12. I really didn’t walk with the Lord until January of 1972 when He touched my life in a dramatic way and I began to attend San Jose Bible College. I graduated from there in 1976 with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology and interned at Christian Chapel, a non-denominational, charismatic church in So. California. They sent me to San Jose in September of 1979 to begin a new church. When I came to San Jose a friend of mine was pastoring South Valley Chapel and sensed the Lord leading him out of the pastorate. In January of 1981 we merged the two churches together and I became the senior pastor as my friend moved on. In 1985 we affiliated with Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa and changed our name to South Valley Calvary Chapel. Don McClure came to San Jose in 1991 and began to pastor the old Calvary Community Church (Assembly of God) and changed its name to Calvary Chapel San Jose. Being less than five miles apart, I would occasionally get together with Don and be at his church for different events. The Lord laid it on my heart to merge the church I pastored with his and become his assistant. This was accomplished in March 1995. A group of people from Fremont were traveling down to San Jose and they desired a Calvary Chapel in their area. After being with Don for nearly two years and after much prayer and Don’s encouragement, my wife and I were led to plant a new Calvary Chapel in Fremont. Our first Sunday was January 5, 1997. The Lord is blessing and we see His hand on our lives and in the ministry.

Bert and his wife Veronica went to Panamá in 2008 following God’s leading to see a Calvary Chapel plant in the country. As in any other endeavor, the beginnings can be rough and difficult, but God is always faithful and today we can say that we’re so thankful for the ministry in Panamá. Two Calvary Chapels are well established and two more are in the process. Apart from that, God has so wonderfully opened doors for the teaching of His Word in different churches of different denominations thru out the country. The ministry of Calvary Chapel Panamá keeps reaching out to their communities, institutions, churches, schools, orphanages and others in such a wonderful way that we can’t ignore the fact that God is doing the work. All glory and honor belongs to Him and Him alone!

God inspired him to establish a church in Mexico City. He married a Mexican lady, Tania, who is a wonderful, spirit-filled Christian woman and they have three children, Angelica, Debbie and Jonathan.
In 1992, the Domingo´s moved to Queretaro, Mexico and again God used their lives to establish another church and School of Evangelism which continues today.

Fast forward 23 years, a move out to Southern California and a visit to Horizon San Diego, Bob was saved. Feeling a call to the ministry, Bob left his corporate job and began to study the Word. Though various schools, internship programs and loving pastors, Bob grew more and more in love with Jesus and His Word.

The Lord has spoken Psalm 119:25 “My soul clings to the dust. Revive me according to Your Word.” to Bob’s heart.

In 1989 Carl started the School of Ministry as a two year intensive program designed to train men in the Bible and ministry. The success of the program is its balance between gaining a deeper knowledge of the Bible and practical application to ministry. That program has been recently expanded to a three-year program and renamed the Calvary Chapel Bible College Graduate School.
